Weekend Rewind (Dissappointment Edition)

This weekend saw me wake up early twice (5:45 AM and 6:00 AM), drive a total of 262 miles, go to the beach, and get sick. A hodge-podge of a weekend to say the least. Saturday was beautiful and I relaxed on the beach, which is how I pictured my weekend going. Saturday saw Notre Dame beat up on Nevada in the first game of the year, the US Men’s National Team struggle to put away El Salvador in a 2-1 game, that should not have been that close, and a nice relaxing jog. All in all, a solid start.

The trouble started on Sunday when I woke up and realized that it felt like someone had been repeatedly punching my Achilles Tendon throughout the night. Not good…tendonitis is the diagnosis from my father (he is a doctor, or pretends to be one anyway), which puts me off running for about 2-3 weeks. It also causes me to walk like I am about 84 years old, again not good. My spirits could not be daunted though, as my mother had made a great meal for the night and I happily over consumed anything I laid eyes on. Not a great day, but a good one none the less.

I woke up on Monday with a purpose, to take a practice test, but I also woke up with a terrible feeling in my stomach. This derailed any plans I had for a practice test or subsequent studying I could have done. This was very disappointing , but I did find time in the evening to re-write 3 of my essays. Being back at work after a long weekend is always tough, but when you get up at 5:30 and it is as dark as night, it makes it doubly hard….Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend and that your R1 essays are close to finishing up.
