A God among mere mortals

The Yankees win, the uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh, Yankees win!

What is it about the playoffs and Derek Jeter? He is otherworldly when it comes to producing when his team needs him the most. He is a great player for the Yankees, but more importantly,  a great leader. Just look at him…

ALDS Game 1 - New York Yankees vs. Minnesota TwinsI have a  serious bromantic crush on this guy…Oh Captain, My Captain. Ok, I am going to stop before it starts (or continues) to get weird in this post. I went to the game last night with my brother and we had a blast, sitting amongst the (real) fans in the upper deck in left field. There is something that happens in the city when the Yankees win, everyone seems to be happier. When we got on the D to head back to Jersey I knew we had picked a great subway car. There was a man there simply referring to himself as “Bernie Williams” who was heckling the Twins fans (apparently they do exist) who were riding the subway with us. He was screaming at them from 161st street until he got off at 42nd…classic NYC. I got home pretty late, but still had to do some work on my essays, so I didn’t get to bed until after 1, which isn’t very good when you wake up at 5:30. I am dragging this morning, but I have to press on and finish my essays by this Friday. I shouldn’t have any problem as I only have one more left to do.
